Head Em Up and Move Em Out

Last Friday, the last day of our Mini-MTC, our meetings ended early so that we could move trailers from Cowboy Village up the mountain to Heber Valley Camp.  They had planned to move a few trailers at a time, get them all set up, then move up a few more.  However, the weather turned bad, with snow predicted in the mountains, so they hurried and moved all the trailers up the mountain to camp.  Because the road is so steep, we, along with several other missionaries, needed help hauling our trailer up the mountain.  We were ever so grateful to Elder Hendrickson for helping us.

We pulled our trailer up to the Timber Lakes Chapel where we
met Elder Hendrickson.  He then hitched our trailer to his truck
to begin the steep climb up the mountain to camp.

Here we are following our trailer as it
is pulled up the steep, winding road.

Here we are at our campsite.  Two trailers are parked together, one
in front of the other.  You can barely see the front of the 5th wheel
that is parked behind us.

This is the view looking up our "street" towards the missionary's
laundry (the cabin like structure you can see).

This is the view from the other side of our trailer looking
out over part of the camp towards the west.

Once the trailers were set, these Elders came around to install our sewer.
The small trailer behind the UTV was full of PVC piping.  They use this
to run the sewers because I guess the sun rots the flexible hoses that come with the trailer.
It was snowy and cold, but these Elders made sure everyone was connected.

This picture shows the hard PVC pipe for our sewer (ours is 22 feet
long, running from our trailer to the sewer in the road).  Also note
that our water hose is wrapped with heat tape, then foam isulation
and finally a hard PVC pipe is set over that as well.

Cowboy Village is now a Ghost Town - there is only
one lone non-missionary trailer left.
